I would love to know what makes some people stand up--speak out at all cost, just because it IS THE RIGHT THING to do. I know there are more people out there that would do as Francis Boyle.
But, I also know it is not common.

I think Mr. Wellmann is right about how our experiences shape our behavior, especially in early childhood. These experiences are so unique to the individual that I do not know that there can be one "recipe" that makes a person have the courage to be heroic enough to speak out against their colleagues, their boss, their family, their community, etc, all while risking everything ~ BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Such a person must have the intelligence and confidence (without arrogance) in order to be able to continue the fight against the narrative for decades, no matter the cost. The people who risk all for truth are eliminated because they are a threat to those creating the narrative. Those who choose to supress or silence others are selfish narcissistic, but I believe that deep down, they are all cowards who live in fear of losing control.

They do it because their most deeply-held conviction is that recognizing reality is a matter of life and death. They know that the truth is discoverable; they know the power of the rational human mind to discover it; they know or at least sense the danger of evading it; and they respect reality above every other consideration.
People like that can't stay silent and they can't comply. They just can't, because they understand on the most fundamental level that ideas matter. If someone handed you a knife and then put a gun to your head and told you to cut out your own eye, you wouldn't be able to do it, no matter how much you feared the gun. That's the impossibility people like Boyle experience when they're asked to renounce their integrity. They can't do it and still live with themselves. Their regard for reality outweighs the pain of social isolation.
Is that conviction a consequence of nature or nurture? I tend to think it's mostly something that some people are born with and then refuse to let go of, and that in most other people it can be developed or destroyed, depending on the particular combination of personality, temperament, and upbringing. The people who, from their earliest days, face unrelenting pressure to drop their convictions and let the pack do their thinking for them, but who never conciliate, are rare.
Fortunately, some are born with a spiritual immune system that sooner or later rejects the illusory worldview that was grafted onto them from birth through social conditioning.
NOT "nature" OR "nurture"; but rather, it's the relationships among them both...that's what makes people how they are.... Relationships. Think about it....

I didn’t know anything about Francis Boyle, beyond knowing he wrote a definition of bioweapons years ago, that he had agreed to give expert opinion in the same civil case in which I have also agreed to speak and finally that he had died suddenly, shortly after agreeing to join the team.

I have no such background story, other than something happened in my childhood that, later, lead me to resolve for a lifetime that I would never lie, never bear false witness. I would tell the truth or I would remain silent, to the extent possible.

Yes but most of these people would piss themselves with fear if they had to ride a night bus home in a big city, or if they had to try and sell (and administer) their poison injections personally face to face with ordinary people.

For example, the majority of people didn't really choose (consciously, rationally, sensibly) to take the vax. The vax just ended up inside of them because their attention had been focused on it for the previous 12 months through the use of endless mantras, stickers, masks and all the other 'drama'. Their consent had been obtained over the preceding months so that when the vax was made available they never even questioned the idea of getting it.
The same semi-conscious (go with the flow) behaviour is the reason why the kinds of people who took the vax in 2021 would have supported overt slavery back in the day ..... and not thought anything of it.
And after slavery was abolished the same people would also agree that slavery is bad and totally unacceptable too.

I have always loved whistleblowers. So I decided to make a film about them. I discovered there was group called Whistleblowers Australia based in Sydney, who held regular meetings. I read the book “The occasional human sacrifice” by Carl Elliot who is asking this very question. He was a whistleblower and decided to interview other whistleblowers as to what’s different in their characters. Did they regret it? Yes some did after their lives were ruined but not sure whether they would or would not do it again. We need more whistleblowers in life but at the same time we need better protections for them.

I didn’t know anything about Francis Boyle, beyond knowing he wrote a definition of bioweapons years ago, that he had agreed to give expert opinion in the same civil case in which I have also agreed to speak and finally that he had died suddenly, shortly after agreeing to join the team.
This is a humbling piece.
I have no such background story, other than something happened in my childhood that, later, lead me to resolve for a lifetime that I would never lie, never bear false witness. I would tell the truth or I would remain silent, to the extent possible.

Stand as sentient ensouled beings of divine essence, under God's law, which is only one law, do no harm to others. No man made laws, codes, statutes, resolutions, of any corporations, public, private, municipal franchises, or however organized, has jurisdiction over your soul. It cannot be lost unless you sell it, or give it away, in this life or in the next. You will take with you the frequency and resonance you carry and emulate. You are and will be in the heaven or hell you create. Choose to love, choose to do no harm, choose to not poison yourself, choose to create with love, choose sentience, choose not to act as a proxy for evil, choose to meditate and expand your consciousness, choose divinity over death. Don't choose to go into the realm of the dead and plead for evil to not be evil.
We are not pleading for anything. We are bearing witness. What is happening is the worst thing that’s ever happened in the world, as far as I can discern it. At very least, a very bad thing is surfacing, is emerging into the world.
It must be pointed out firmly, so that more people can decide if they’re to oppose it, to defy its instructions. Not many will, but it will be more than if we remained silent in its face. What happens to us isn’t particularly important, at least, not in my case. I’m 65 and I’ve had a good life. I don’t want to extend it by cowardice.
Im not suggesting we look the other way, and don't rock the boat, like Pam Bondi is saying. So what if our leaders are evildoers, torturing and raping children, killing them, drinking adrenochrome and eating them, as long as the stock market is doing great. If we expose evil the whole system will come crashing down. Yes but most of these people would piss themselves with fear if they had to ride a night bus home in a big city, or if they had to try and sell (and administer) their poison injections personally face to face with ordinary people.

In a sense yes it is, because that's how the world works (magic). Whatever we focus our attention on habitually generally happens. The people who 'run the world' know this which is why they bombard us with nonsense narratives (inversions of reality) 24/7 to keep us all floating in la la land.
For example, the majority of people didn't really choose (consciously, rationally, sensibly) to take the vax. The vax just ended up inside of them because their attention had been focused on it for the previous 12 months through the use of endless mantras, stickers, masks and all the other 'drama'. Their consent had been obtained over the preceding months so that when the vax was made available they never even questioned the idea of getting it.
The same semi-conscious (go with the flow) behaviour is the reason why the kinds of people who took the vax in 2021 would have supported overt slavery back in the day ..... and not thought anything of it.
And after slavery was abolished the same people would also agree that slavery is bad and totally unacceptable too.
Whatever the prevailing narrative is - they just go along with it. They cannot think or act outside of the 'movie' that they are in. I think that's how most people are. They barely have any conscious free will. They just react to various social cues and narratives - most of which they get from the TV and other mainstream sources.

Allowed to say what they said? Snowden had to flee the country, Assange was jailed for years. Ellsberg faced life in prison and was only saved from it by the Supreme Court.

I would say that from my experience, there likely is something specific that occurred in all of these people's lives that shocked them into a stance of being against injustice. In my case it was being told I would lose my county job (of 26 years) if I did not acquiesce to being a lab rat. From then on, I was prepared to fight that amorphous evil with all my power.

I have always loved whistleblowers. So I decided to make a film about them. I discovered there was group called Whistleblowers Australia based in Sydney, who held regular meetings. I attended their meetings. They were uniformly persecuted by the organisations they exposed. I tried to find the reason for their refusal to tow the line, to endlessly rock the boat, fight the team’s need to close ranks. They were obsessive truth tellers, even if it meant losing friends and supporters. They were always bullied at school and hopeless at team sports. They were loners often because they sabotaged relationships. Then I came across a police whistleblower who had written a book while in the police force called ‘Watching the Detectives’. She had an autistic son, and a brother with Asperger’s also with an autistic son. She knew many whistleblowers and believed that they were inevitablely ‘on the spectrum’. This was collaborated by an expert psychologist Tony Atwood who wrote a book on Asperger’s and often toured the U.S. with famous Aspie, Temple Grandin. I read the book “The occasional human sacrifice” by Carl Elliot who is asking this very question. He was a whistleblower and decided to interview other whistleblowers as to what’s different in their characters. Did they regret it? Yes some did after their lives were ruined but not sure whether they would or would not do it again. We need more whistleblowers in life but at the same time we need better protections for them.
the protections written into law are almost always violated, one way or another.
The reason? The powerful protect the powerful and laugh at those of us who have been whistleblowers. They bend the truth, lie, twist the law, prohibit evidence and testimony that reveals the truth. Legal proceedings are made into perverted demonstrations of corruption.
I hate the thought that we have no power to change that which damages us. It’s too influential, too powerful and ubiquitous.
You, and others like you, have written a truer obituary, and - one day perhaps - it might be incorporated into the official obituary.
