I was also struck by lightning on May 4, 2023. It was indirect as I saw it hit a car battery about six feet from me, so the white light was not all encompassing. I began screaming before the thunder crack so yes, light hits before sound. Definitely.

I didn' realize that it had affected me until later that night when I was playing on my laptop and my fingers wouldn't move. It was like the command from my brain to my fingers to move or type had short circuited. This only lasted for several seconds but I still sometimes notice a tingling in my arms and headaches especially right before charged thunderstorms. It definitely takes you out of the ordinary.

I think right now is a survival moment for our collective humanity. We can take on no more debt, death or wars on behalf of others. What we do to another ultimately comes back to ourselves.

How do we stop the dystopia? Stop using their money, or thinking of it as money at all...

Where did it happen, and how?

I was in Phuket, Thailand with my husband at our old bungalow under an awning. Fast moving afternoon thunderstorms are very common at that time of year as Thailand moves from the dry to the rainy season (though lightning and thunder are uncommon during actual monsoon weather). He was cooking something under the covered awning area and was talking about going to the shop to buy something when the storm came out of nowhere. I told him I wanted to go inside when the lightning struck this car battery just outside the awning only about six feet from us.

We had many tall trees nearby which sometimes were struck so I didn't think our low lying bungalow would ever get hit by lightning. But the car battery was hooked to our solar panel and was used to charge our phones and laptop. It was the only live wire anywhere in the area so perhaps that created the attraction. I didn't think the strike affected me until a few hours later that night with this strange tingling and burning (my husband was right next to me but seemed okay) and then the extremely unsettling not being able to move my hand or fingers for several seconds. Did it arc or come up from the ground?

I remember you. Where have you been? Did you ever get your husband to US? When I last heard of your dealings was when they had covid shut down and a mess with him getting over here when you were coming home, where your daughter was. Good knowing you are here.

Greetings from Michigan! My daughters along with my nieces are going to be my Valentines. My husband is not in America yet: after the Covid shutdown/backlogs there was about three years lost to legal wrangling regarding refusing vaccines at his medical check. In January Trump banned immigrant visa from 75 countries including Thailand. Now we’re looking into tourist visas: it’s an insane mess that now crosses three administration’s actions (Trump 1.0, Biden and now Trump 2.0). But we’re still out here! Planning my return to Thailand next month.

Takes a lot of gumption. Good luck Amy!

I love the vibe - activating energy is so key, thank you for the inspiring post. I am a quiet but relentless organic gardener/community builder, and qigong organizer. Great essay I look forward to more -

They built the dystopian machine and now we are at the point of realizing that we can say no to it.

COVID came and was supposed to throw us into a world like V for Vendetta.... But it didn't hold long enough to let them do what they wanted.

Well, well, Your personal account rings true to my experience. Good to know there is real resistance building beyond the system. It spat me out long ago and continues to do so with every "concenience", as it is the short circuit to my creativity. Thank you for sharing, I'm grateful.
